Essential information to recognize prior hiking to Nepal

Multi-Day hiking in the Himalayas in and around the earth might possibly be dangerous as the Himalayas have their own weather and climate change suddenly.

In the short duration the weather will be sunny and blue skies and in a few minutes it will be heavy snowing or foggy. Clouds cover all the mountains and can be raining quickly.

Restricted and protected regions of Nepal can be travelled through reputed trekking companies in Nepal. Like Upper Dolpo trek, Upper Mustang Trek, Tsum valley, and so on.

Hiking Everest is riskier than other parts due to the flight to Lukla airport being more risky and canceling the flight instantly due to weather. There are few cases of aeroplane accidents. When a flight occurs from Kathmandu the weather is clear but after 30 minutes when going to land it will be bad and can cause accidents sometimes.

Hike to the Himalayas in Nepal is more risky due to AMS sickness that means few hikers are unable to adapt to the altitude and oxygen level. So take precautions and consult with an experienced guide before hiking there. Otherwise, altitude can kill which makes your holiday worse as well as family sour forever due to your hiking holiday in Nepal.

Best or Supreme time to Hike Nepal

Suitable and appropriate hiking periods in Nepal are normally all year around but pre-monsoon and post-monsoon are the supreme periods.

In the peak season like April and October find the lodges in higher elevations and busy hiking routes a bit troublesome like Mardi Himal, Annapurna Base camp and Everest Base Camp a few villages.

Pre-monsoon period is a more warm and suitable time for flower and photography whereas Post Monsoon period is another trekking seasons  in Nepal due to clear skies and many festivals occur in this period.

In winter we suggest hiking at lower elevations until 3500 meters. The reason for this is piles of snow covering the higher passes make it quite impossible for trekking. Furthermore, due to excessive cold tea houses are closed.

The monsoon period is the best time to visit the beaten less rainy parts of Nepal like the Upper Mustang and Dolpo regions.

How to survive with altitude in Nepal Himalayas?

Nepal Himalayas are the highest mountain in the world which means mountain sickness or higher elevation-associated problems can occur. When Multiday hikes over 2500 meters ASL you need to think positive first you will hike just normal hiking like lower elevations.

Hiking rapidly does not allow your health a suitable time to adapt to altitude and oxygen, which means hikers do not acclimatize with the oxygen and pressure. Stay hydrated, hike slowly and take enough rest and relish the scenery are the precautions.

The categorization of altitude sickness is very arduous so it can be compared just with your hiker mates. If you feel some symptoms please do not hesitate to share with your hikers partner or hiking guide.

If you hike alone you must go back to the lower elevation as soon as you can.

Ams Can Kill?

How to travel inside Nepal?

Train:

There are no train facilities in Nepal.

Flights:

Till Today Nepal has just 1 international airport named Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital city of Kathmandu Nepal.

If you are trekking in the Everest region, you can take a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or Kathmandu to Phaplu.

If you want to go trekking to Kanchenjunga you can fly either Kathmandu to Suketar, Kathmandu to Biratnagar, or Kathmandu to Bhadrapur. The best suitable option is Kathmandu to Suketar if you find the flights.

Those who desire to trek Annapurna can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

For those willing to hike Dolpo, you can take a flight to Nepaljung.  From there take a flight to Jhupal and vice versa when returning.

Bus:

Buses are more suitable backpacking trip options in Nepal for reaching the hiking starting points. If you are trekking to Annapurna circuit, you can drive to Besisahar. If you trek ABC Camp, take a bus to Pokhara or Nayapul. If you trek Kanchenjunga, take a bus to Taplejung. And return respectively.

Private vehicle:

Private vehicles are more suitable options after flights. Hikers have more flexibility in time and routes with private vehicle options. Depending on trek start points, a car or 4 wheel jeep are available in Kathmandu and major cities.

Tourist Bus:

Tourist buses are available only from Kathmandu to Pokhara and return among the several trekking routes. Other hiking routes and tourist buses are not available.

Food and Alcoholic drinks in Nepal:

Many tourist restaurants are available in major cities and tourist places like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini. Busy trekking routes also offer many food options. Mostly Nepali Meal Dal Bhat (a set of Rice, Vegetable, Soup of different beans, Pickle, Different curry, a dry bread-papad with veggie or meat) available all over Nepal. That meal is a buffet for all domestic or international hikers with a single price.

Alcoholic drinks are very expensive in Nepal. We will warmly suggest not drinking alcohol in higher elevation Nepal hiking. 1 bottle of beer costs US$ 6 to 10. A glass of wine will be US$ 10 as well in tourist restaurants.

Conclusion:

In a nutshell, we suggest that beginner hikers opt for the Dhampus Sarangkot 3 days hiking route near Pokhara. Whereas for moderate trekkers we suggest hiking Annapurna Base Camp or Everest Base Camp.

Summer season hikers are suggested to choose Dolpo treks. The upper Dolpo hiking route blesses you with more attractions than that of lower Dolpo treks.

For the professionals we will suggest Manaslu Circuit, Chola pass or Annapurna Circuit Treks. For peace and quiet trekkers, Kanchenjunga hiking is the best option.
