Upper Mustang Trekking Probably everyone dreamed of visiting mysterious Annapurna Himalayas in Nepal, seeing with their own eyes the lost city of the Pokhara, and going on a hike to Upper Mustang. Some of the most beautiful mountains on the planet hide many mysteries of ancient Buddhist civilizations. We are waiting for high-mountainous Nepal including Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri, glaciers and lakes, the legendary upper Mustang, an overnight stay on the mountains, and, of course, the famous City for devotees- Kagbeni.

Traveling to Upper Mustang is an incredible adventure physically accessible to everyone. Trek Itinerary:

Day 1st: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft) transfer to hotel {15-minute drive}.

Day 2nd: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (823m/2700ft) {7 hours drive}.

Day 3rd: Fly to Jomsom (2725m/ 8,940ft) and trek to Kagbeni (2810m/ 9219ft) {Trek 3 hours}.

Day 4th: Trek to Chele (2920m / 10,006ft) (enter into the restricted upper Mustang area) {trek 7 hours}.

Day 5th: Trek to Syangboche (3800m/ 12467ft) {Trek 5-6 hours}.

Day 6th: Trek to Ghami (3520m/ 11548ft) {Trek 5 hours}.

Day 7th: Trek to Tsarnag (3560m/11679ft) {Trek 4 hours}.

Day 8th: Trek to Lo Manthang (3800m/ 12467ft) {Trek 4 – 5 hours}.

Day 9th: Explore day at Lo Manthang.

Day 10th: Trek to Dhakmar (3800m/ 12467ft) {Trek 7 – 8 hours}.

Day 11th: Trek to Syanboche.

Day 12th: Trek to Chusang (3040m/ 9973ft) {Trek 5 – 6 hours}.

Day 13th: Trek to Kagbeni (2810m) {trek 4 hours}.

Day 14th: Trek to Jomsom (2720){ Trek 3 hours}.

Day 15th: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara (823m/2700ft) {20 minutes flight}.

Day 16th: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu(1350m/4429ft){7 hours drive}.

Day 01:

Arrival in Kathmandu (1336m) and transfer to Hotel{15 to 25 minutes driving}

Welcome to the mountainous country Nepal. during your arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport{TIA} airport in front of arrival gate Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions, One representative heartily welcomes you in a placid with your name print. after meeting his he will transfer to you to your hotel. Then you have leisure. Evening we will introduce you with your guide and brief you about your detailed program then check and prepare your trekking equipment. Then we will treat you by welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant in Thamel with local cuisine and typical Nepali dance and music live show. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 02:

Kathmandu Day tour

6 Hour Tour.


3 Star Category Hotel.

Today after breakfast we will start a private guided tour of the Kathmandu World Heritage sites listed by UNESCO. In the beginning, we will start from the Swoyambhunath Stupa. It is an ancient stupa and tourists ask this stupa as a name by monkey temple. After guiding here we will drive to Kathmandu Durbar square. it's a royal palace before. Now we can see here a cluster of old temples making by the previous King. WE can see the beautiful Living Goddess Kumari there. but Photo cannot take. After seeing the living God we will drive to Boudhnath stupa and Lunch. After lunch, we will explore The world's Biggest Boudhnath Stupa and the holy pond behind it. Then we will drive to our last sightseeing point, Pashupatinath Temple. Its a holy temple and most pilgrimage sites for Hindus. lots of temples surround here and it's dedicated to Shiva. On the bank of the Bagmati River, you can see the cremation system in Nepal. After people died in Kathmandu valley they bring here for burning the body and the cremation system is different before they burn. then our sightseeing end. we will back to the hotel and prepare goods for trekking.

Day 03:

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara{823m}

7 Hours Driving.


3 Star Category Hotel.

Today after breakfast in the capital city Kathmandu we will drive to the Tourist Bus station from the Hotel then take the tourist bus to go to Pokhara. It takes around 7 to 8 hours and on the way three stops. one for a toilet break, the second for breakfast, and the third for lunch. on the way, if you are window seated on the right side of the bus you are able to see the Mountain lifestyle, houses, rivers, mountains, Rafting, and numerous new exploration during the trails. after you reach the tourist bus park Pokhara we will drive you to your hotel in the lakeside of Phewa. Pokhara is a very beautiful city and leisure city in Nepal. Evening you can take a boat and can see the sunset view from Lakeside.

Day 04:

Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and Trek from Jomsom to Kagbeni(2860m)

35 Minutes Flight And 3 To 4 Hours Trek.

Today we take breakfast very early and you will be transferred to Pokhara airport for a flight to Jomsom. It's a very beautiful flight on a tiny airstrip with lots of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri Himalayan Ranges. Jomsom is the Headquarter of the Mustang District and the main town at the bank of the Kali Gandaki river. A long-time ago we will trade salt from Tibet to Nepal from here. then we will trek towards Kagbeni. after 2-3 hours gradual flat trek we will reach Eklebhatti where we can lunch then we trek continue to Kagbeni a holy place too. Kak river and Mustang river meeting here then after here the river name Kaligandaki.. overnight stay in this beautiful village.

Day 05:

Trek from Kagbeni to Chele{3050m}

5 To 6 Hour Trekking.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

Today after breakfast we will enter the restricted area so we will check our permits at the police check post. Upper Mustang is the Forbidden region so a special permit is needed to trek here. Today we trekking sandy and windy paths. In the beginning, we will reach Tangbe village where we can explore red black and white Chortenswith the buckwheat farmland. Some apples also can find here. After climb steeply we reach the next destination is called Chele is our final destination. you can find almost different mountain culture here.

Day 06:

Trek from Chele to Syanbochen(3475m)

7 Hours Trek.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

Beginning of the trekking we will reach the village Eklo Bhatti and we will upward trek the pass Taklam La(3424m  altitude) through the narrow Stretches. During this pass we can see Numerous mountains like Tilicho peak, Damodar Kunda, Yakawagang then we will trek downhill to Samar village. After there we continue trails through the pass Phyangbo. Red and black mixed Chortens we can explore during this trek. Some steep ascend bring you to the village Syanbochen or Syangmochen after pass Chungjen Rangjen Gomba. Overnight here.

Day 07:

Trek from Syanbochen to Ghaymi(3520m)

5 To 6 Hour Trekking.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

First, we will enjoy the breakfast and start our trekking to uphill Yamda La(3850m). Numerous Chortens local village we will pas. The houses we pass almost similar like Tibetan styles. Numerous Barley farmland we will pass then climb to NYI PASS(4010m). This passes quite long and we will descend to Ghaymi village. This lLo region Large village surrounded by fields but unproductive. overnight at Ghaymi.

Day 08:

Trek from Ghaymi to Tsarang(3560m)

5 Hour Trekking.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

Today our pleasant journey of trekking starts after breakfast at Ghyammi. When you cross Ghaymi Stream then we climb to a plateau and pass the Mani wall painted by Tibetans Buddhist followers. Then we will trek eastern direction from the mani wall with some tree houses. You can see a huge white Dzong and a red Gompa in Tsarang. overnight at Tsangrang.

Day 09:

Trek from Tsarang to Lo-Manthang(3810m)

5 Hour Trekking.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

At the beginning of trekking today we will trek downwards and cross CHARANG CHU then trekking uphill to the rocky trekking trail. From the altitude of 3950m, we will see the walled city of Lo-Manthang and trek downhill to the Plain of Aspirations. after climb a little plateau, we reach to beautiful village Lo-Manthang. Overnight here.

Day 10:

Exploration day in Lo-Manthang:

Stroll 3 hours.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

Today we will look around Lo-Manthang. You can see the main entrance gate in lo-Manthang and the streets are narrow here. The royal palace of the 4th story building with mud and timber constructed so beautifully. We can see Namgyal Monastery if you go to the highest point of the hill. it takes 1 hour to go there hill and can see Annapurna way too. Lo Manthang you can feel its not in Nepal like its otherworld because of its different culture, tradition, and kings.

Day 11:

Trek From Lo-Manthang to Drakmar(3820m)

7 Hours Trek.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

When returning our trail from Lo-Manthang will be slightly different than the previous trail. At the beginning of trekking, we will climb to the highest pass in this trek also called Chogo La(4325m) then descending to the Gekar Monastery. Also famous as named Ghar Gompa. Its made in the 8th century AD and people believe that this is one of the oldest gompas in Nepal. after there we climb a little and descend to the pretty valley village Dhakmar.

Day 12:

Trek from Dhakmar to Ghiling(3806m)

5 To 6 Hour Trekking.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

Today we will trek back to Ghiling with a long walk around 6 hours. When we arrive in this village we will Lunch and explore around in the evening because the afternoon is most windy and it brings lots of dust. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 13:

Trek from Ghiling to Chhuksang(3050m)

5 Hour Trekking.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

We re-track back to Chhuksang and overnight stay there after 5 hours trek. today you have a wonderful journey because of snow-capped mountain scenery. enjoy this trip wait for the last day trekking back.

Day 14:

Trek from Chhuksang to Jomsom(2700m)

7 Hours Trek.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Tea House/ Lodge.

Today is our last day of trekking and the longest day also. We start our trek today after early breakfast. We reach Kagbeni and have lunch there. Kagbeni is the meeting point of the Annapurna circuit trail, Jomsom Muktinath trek, and this trek start point. After lunch, we continue to trek back to Jomsom. In the evening after confirming our flight ticket, you can give farewell dinner to your trekking staff on the succession of your trek. overnight at Jomsom.

Day 15:

Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara(823m)and transfer to Hotel.

25 Minutes Flight And 10 Min Driving.


3 Star Category Hotel.

In the beginning, we enjoy the morning mountain last breakfast in Jomsom in front of Nilgiri mountain. Then we will check in the airport for a dramatic flight to go to Pokhara. On the flight, you can explore the deepest gorge Kaligandaki with Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain middle. after 20 minutes of flight, we transfer you to the hotel. Afternoon you can be sightseeing in Pokhara or leisure or Massage in Pokhara. Boating in Phewa lake is another option for exploring Pokhara and its surroundings.

Day 16:

Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu(1350m/4429ft){7 hours driving}

7 Hours Driving or 25 Minutes Flight.


3 Star Category Hotel.

After breakfast in Pokhara in the shadow of the Annapurna mountain range, we will drive to Tourist bus station Pokhara. then we will take a tourist bus to Kathmandu. Today's journey also long around 7 hours driving. If you feel stress please book a flight for only 20 minutes at an additional cost. In the evening our Mission Himalaya Treks and Expedition representative will share your trek experience with us and he provides you a certificate from our company on your successful trek.

Day 17:

Departure and shopping.

30 Minutes Driving.



Today's final day in Buddha country Nepal. After free breakfast in Kathmandu, you can last an hour shopping for your friends and family. then 3-hour prior flight you will drop by mission Himalaya Treks And Expedition Pvt. Ltd representative to the airport air according to your request for check-in time for your sweet home. we will wait for you another journey to Nepal, Tibet, or Bhutan with your Friends, Relatives, and family members. we wish you have a safe journey.
