For that, you will have to tell us. Then, we can arrange for you to have a separate room if you are trekking alone.

In most teahouses, you can expect solar or electric heaters. They also have showers and attached bathrooms.

The majority of the foods in the Himalayan treks are similar. However, if we had to draw comparisons, we can differentiate the food by the regions. Trekkers can find organic, locally grown food at the lodges and teahouses on the Annapurna Circuit trek. It will be best to depend on these food item so that hikers have the energy for the day.
A lot of people might not know whether or not these teahouses and lodges serve a wide range of meals. You can find many meals here. It’s popular for both domestic and foreign visitors. These guesthouses and teahouses serve Continental, Indian, Tibetan, Nepalese, and Western cuisines.

In Nepalese culture, people consider lunch a key meal. Lunch will power you for the full day. You will need it for the rugged Annapurna circuit trek. You can choose from many lunch options. These include momo, noodles, pasta, sandwiches, and potato dishes. You can also choose Daal-Bhat-Tarkari-Achaar (rice). Among these, Dal Bhat is the most popular item. Both domestic and international tourists thoroughly enjoy this dish. As this dish provides excessive energy all day long, it is obvious that it will be widely recognized. Hence, trekkers who do the Annapurna Circuit Trek hardly ever skip this lunch.
Normally, dinner is a light meal, however, in Nepal, dinner and lunch are the same. You can, however, eat as much as you like because you’re engaged in adventure a lot all day. You will be served dinner at the lodge where you are staying that evening. You can choose from the same options as lunch.

They also have black coffee, milk coffee, and hot lemon. In addition, there are soft drinks like Coke, Fanta, and Sprite. Bottled juice is also available there. Hard beverages like wine, rum, and whisky are also available. But, you’ll be at a high altitude, so avoid hard drinks as much as possible.
While you are on trek, communication options are less but not completely unavailable. You can get a local SIM card for communication and internet access before going on trek. Many tea houses and lodges will provide Wi-Fi, but the speed and quality may differ. We advise you to get in touch with your friends and families from these tea houses and lodges. Also, be aware that you will access fewer facilities at higher altitudes like Wi-Fi.
The Annapurna circuit trek requires permits. It lets you explore the Annapurna region. You will require two permits that are – TIMS and ACAP. These two permits can be acquired in either Kathmandu or Pokhara. With us, you don’t have to arrange the permits. But, we just want to give you the basic info about the required permits for this Annapurna Circuit Trek.
For international travelers, TIMS is very important and must have a permit to trek in Nepal. Two authorized associations of Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board and the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal have implemented this permit to ensure the security of the trekkers traveling in this region.
But as of April 1, 2023, TIMS card as well as a guide is now required for solo or free independent trekkers (FITs). This is per the decision of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the nation’s official tourism agency. The board includes trekking and mountaineering groups. They made the decision on Thursday due to increasing safety concerns.
The president of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal is Nilhari Bastola. He also said that having guides for FITs would create jobs and ensure travelers’ safety.
The fees for the TIMS card have also been revised. They are now NPR 1000 for SAARC citizens and NPR 2000 for others. You should bring two passport size photos and the photocopy of your passport.
ACAP permit is different from TIMS, which is specifically for trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area. After paying the fees and taking this permit you will be supporting to develop the conservation area. The fee for this permit is around 3000 Nepali rupees that roughly equals to 25 USD. In some areas of Nepal, like Upper Mustang, trekking requires a special permit. It’s called a Restricted Area Permit (RAP). This area is considered as sensitive area. It is due to its unique culture and nearness to the Tibetan border.
In Nepal, RAPs are issued by the Department of Immigration (DOI). For the first ten days, each person must pay $500 USD. An additional 50 USD per person is charged for each extra day spent in this wonderful region.
Once the applicant submits the application, they must wait for RAP approval by the Ministry of Home Affairs. This process can take a few days, so it is important to plan when applying. The RAP is valid for 16 days from the date of issuance. The permit holder can stay inside the area for up to 24 hours.

Momos are delicious dumplings filled with meat or vegetables. It is also another popular choice. You might also enjoy Thukpa. It is a noodle soup with vegetables and meat. It is perfect for warming up in the cold. Sel Roti is another sweet, ring-shaped rice bread. These dishes offer a taste of Nepalese culture and provide the energy needed for your trek.
You can read books and watch movies for inspiration before trekking the Annapurna Circuit. You can read the book “Annapurna: A Woman’s Place” by Arlene Blum. It tells the story of the first all-women’s ascent of Annapurna. Another book for reading is “Into Thin Air” by Jon Krakauer. It is focused on Everest but will give a vivid sense of high-altitude trekking.
You can watch “The Summit” and “Meru” movies. They both highlight the challenges and beauty of Himalayan climbing. You can also watch “Himalaya” (also known as “Caravan”). It is a stunning film set in the mountains of Nepal.
These books and movies can provide motivation and insights into the adventures.
Some common misconceptions about the Annapurna Circuit Trek are as follows:
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected the Annapurna Circuit Trek. There were travel restrictions and lockdowns in Nepal. Tourist arrivals decreased. Teahouses and lodges on the route closed temporarily. Many trekking agencies and guides also faced economic challenges. Health and safety protocols, such as mask-wearing and social distancing, were implemented. It was to protect trekkers and locals alike. People made efforts to safely reopen the trekking routes. They also worked to boost tourism in the region. It focuses on keeping the natural beauty. It also keeps the cultural integrity of the Annapurna Circuit.
You can get involved as a volunteer in local organizations like the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). It was started by King Mahendra Trust of Nature Conservation. It is a non-government organization. It was funded by international trusts. They work on projects like reforestation, wildlife protection, and sustainable tourism. You can also support friendly lodges and businesses that follow sustainable practices. You can also participate in clean-up campaigns. The people who live here and the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) have worked together to manage this region.
I just completed the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Mission Himalaya and had a great time with their team. Our guide Birendra who was honest, considerate and professional in working. I would highly recommend him a lot. This trek itself was difficult for 2 days in Pisang to Manang upper way and throng Phedi to Muktinath but worth it. I saw many many different body types of people, ages, and nationalities on the trial and if you planning I would advise to just go for it with this company. Take training prior but this is a top trekking destination around the world. Do not wait to grab the chance and go to Nepal.
