Tilicho Lake Trek Overview

Observing an Alpine Tilicho Lake Trek is a selected joy of a hike over the Himalayas. Woefully, snowfall renders the majority of Himalayan lakes impassable during the winter season. Trekkers are at an elevation of about 16140 feet situated near the Tilicho Lake water. The panoramas are stunning.

This Alpine lake is located in Manang and has highly transparent crystalline water, a Buddha & a Shiva shrine next to it, and an information board next to it. In front of the ridge that encircles the lake, a few of the country’s best magnificence Himalayas, Mt. Tilicho Peak, Annapurnas, and Throng Peak may be seen.

Trekkers who book a trek with Mesokanto pass if the snow level is attainable trekkers set up tents close outside to the lake. setting the camp in those a place is an adventure in and of itself.

Before Tilicho gets the spotlight, please do not forget what other Ice Lake trekkers adore. Icelake is another stunning site further up surrounded by hills and just next to Chulu Himalayas. The lake has always been associated with an alluring legend.

One of my favorite wooded treks is part of this excursion. It is many wonder if the lake coating of snow on the side of the lake.

Although not entirely covered, the scenes are stunning. Trekkers can observe for miles along the lakes, giving you a feeling of spaciousness.

Annapurna itself is an intriguing place for trekking and the Nepal Tilicho Lake Trek is a specific occurrence. The reason is the awe-inspiring scenery and secret jewels which are located at the base of the snow-capped Annapurna Himalayas.

Tilicho Lake Trek, the trek got its name after the world’s highest glacial lake Tilicho which is a major appeal of the Annapurna Region. Tilicho Hiking trail goes along with distinct Tibetan influence villages of Dharapani, Chame, Pisang, and Manang which are all the brands of the entire trail of Annapurna Circuit Trek.

5416m, the altitude of Tilicho Lake makes the Nepal Tilicho Lake Trekking sound terrifying. But the absolute health and correct planning before the trek make this lake trek normal.

Weather conditions and choosing the trekking route can make trekking days different. After scanning the Tilicho Lake trek difficulty, we hardly suggest that travelers acclimatize for 2 nights in Manang 3550m. Tilicho Lake Trek tenders a great chance to observe the local flora and fauna of various species. The scenic lake trek also embeds cultural investigation. The ancient Tibetan settlements in Manang, Pisang, Ngawol, and Gheru are the main charisma of this trek.

The Tilicho Lake trip is comparatively long. To be precise, if we ensure the trek from Besisahar, can be completed within 10 days of ascending. However, it will make sense if trekkers take transport until Chame which is just a few hours’ drive from Besishahar. By granting the drive until shame, you will be stepping your foot on the Tilicho Lake Trek short route.

Tilicho Lake trek with the Annapurna circuit is the adobe of numerous streams and rivers, lakes, hot springs, several landscapes, farmlands, temples, monasteries, and hidden cultural exploration trails around the world.

Trip Highlights:

  • Chame Hot spring.
  • Muktinath temple with 108 taps and Natural burning fire.
  • World highest pass(Throng-la Pass).

Tlicho Lake Trekking Route:

Annapurna Round classic trekking around an array of the highest mountain peaks in the world. We have to overcome the stunning beauty of the Throng La Pass (5,416 m) and visit the high-mountainous lake Tilicho.

This is truly an amazing part of Nepal. On your journey, you will meet at least ten different ethnic groups and cross four climatic zones. that is why this track continues to be one of the most popular and established in the world.

The journey will start from the heart city of Nepal, Kathmandu, from where we will get to the village of Chamje by jeep. Then our path preempts to Dharapani. We will drive through picturesque forests, past colorful villages, and numerous rivers running from the mountains. After the continuous trek, we will find ourselves in the Himalayan Manang Valley.

The trekking path in the vicinity of Manang is the most beautiful. On both sides, you can see snowy peaks: the Annapurna ridge will appear from the south and Manaslu from the north. From Manang, Lake Tilicho becomes our ultimate destination. Thus, with full enticement and a rigorous attitude, we will jaunt toward our most-awaited destination, Tlicho Lake.

On this Manang Tilicho lake trekking route, we will spend three days in the area of Lake Tilicho, one of the highest (4949 meters) lakes in the world. For a long time, this stunning place was away from tourist trails and only recently gained deserved popularity among travelers.

Acclimatization or rest day in Tilicho Trek Nepal:

As already mentioned Nepal Tilicho Lake Trek is a high-altitude trek. The higher the altitude, the less oxygen in the air. Thu, too fast climb at such high altitude can cause race disease, which, in turn, can lead to death. Crossing several passes on the route requires acclimatization.

At some points on the route, the oxygen content is 50% of the oxygen content in the air we are used to. The body takes many days to adapt to these conditions, and for safety reasons, acclimatization is essential. Our route is designed in such a way as to minimize the risk of altitude sickness. The climb is smooth.

Travel Responsibly:

Almost all Nepal Trekking routes of Himalayan regions such as Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang are open to independent visits. However, during each of our travels, we do our best to minimize our impact on the surrounding nature and the local population.

Before starting the route, the Mission Himalaya Trek guide will explain in detail to you what can and cannot be done during your trip. We will give you a precise note on things not to do in Nepal.

Meals and accommodation:

During the trekking, we organize meals in loggias and restaurants. You can order your choice of Nepalese, Indian, Western, or Tibetan cuisine. Food during trekking is included in the tour price we mentioned in the itinerary.

If your needs are more modest and the diet doesn’t scare you, you can choose any meal from the menu of the tea house we stay at. For all the groups, we provide accommodation in Kathmandu in a 3-star category hotel, Thamel Park. On trekking, we provide you with accommodation in lodges and guesthouses.

Of course, we will do everything in our power to provide you with the most comfortable accommodation, but please note that in mountainous areas, accommodation is usually very simple, and there are no high-class hotels. Don’t forget to bring sleeping bags and warm clothing for trekking.

Best time for Nepal Tilicho Lake Trekking:

Spring and Autumn seasons are the best seasons for Tilicho Lake Trekking. At this time you will be enchanted with a clear sky, a beautiful scene. Nature will please shut your battery down by forcing you to capture lots of pictures. However, you can join Tilicho Lake trekking at any time of the year with Mission Himalaya.

High elevation emergency Insurance:

High-altitude trekking is riskier than normal trekking in the city. So normally we do not take responsibility for your insurance but at the time of your poor health condition, we will advise a good suggestion. It is up to you whether to be insured or not.

However, we draw your attention to the fact that you will be traveling in a remote area with no infrastructure, and we strongly recommend that you have medical insurance, which should also cover emergency evacuation.

We are not insurance agents, and we do not sell insurance. Nevertheless, we can advise you on one of the reliable companies, or purchase insurance for you, but for an additional fee.

Required experience and health:

Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake trek route will require you to cross every day within 6-9 hours and pass one rather difficult high pass. Hiking up to 15 kilometers a day in the highlands is the main activity of our trip, and you should be ready for it.

We will provide you with tips to prepare for high-altitude trekking. We recommend that you start preparing for your trip three months in advance. It is very good if you already have experience in the mountains. Other prerequisites for the success of the expedition are willpower, good health, and tolerance for the people around you.

Once again, please note that in the absence of insurance, all medical care and evacuation costs are borne by you. In addition, before the trip, it would be correct to consult a doctor about health.
