We Care about your Safety. In Mission Himalaya Treks we place health, safety and wellbeing of our guests at its core. Whether you are hiking through the mountain ranges in Nepal, discovering the cultural wonders of Bhutan or riding the Tibetan Plateau, we are determined to offer you a safe, comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.
Adventure travel usually involves taking visitors to remote and high altitude areas where they need to be well prepared and supported by skilled professionals. Our highly qualified guides, well-designed itineraries and excellent safety measures contribute to making sure that all our journeys are undertaken in a responsible and most careful way.
We travel with licensed, skilled, and knowledgeable guides who are familiar with local routes, weather patterns, cultural practices and safety measures. They are also trained continuously and prepared to assist the travellers during the journey.
In addition to sharing local knowledge and cultural insights, our guides are constantly monitoring the well-being of the guests and provide support whenever needed. Their experience is an important key to a safe and successful trip.
support whenever needed. Their experience is a vital key to ensuring a safe and successful trip.
There are many trekking routes in Nepal and Tibet that go up to altitudes where altitude may affect travellers. Most people do well with gradual ascent, but it is important to know the challenges of traveling in high altitude.
We have included enough acclimatization days where necessary in our itineraries. Guides are trained to recognize and act on any altitude related symptoms. We encourage all travelers to walk at a comfortable pace, to stay hydrated and to communicate openly with their guide throughout the journey.
Travelers should be in good health and physically prepared for their chosen trek or tour before booking a trek or tour. Some tours require a moderate level of fitness, while others involve more strenuous trekking conditions.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions please consult with your doctor before travel and notify us prior to travel. This will enable our team to give the necessary guidance and to make the required arrangements.
You are strongly recommended to bring your own personal medications and necessary medical supplies, especially if you are visiting remote locations.
Good hygiene is an important part of staying healthy when you travel. We recommend guests to consume purified or treated water during the trips and practice good hygiene throughout the trip.
We cook with care from locally available ingredients. We work with hotels, lodges and restaurants that we trust whenever possible. Travelers with dietary requirements must inform us in advance of their trip to enable us to make suitable arrangements.
Serious incidents are rare but you have to be ready when you travel in mountain environments. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, Mission Himalaya Treks has a well-equipped safety management system and emergency response plans in place.
Our team stays in touch where possible and coordinates closely with local authorities, health facilities and rescue services if support is needed. Emergency evacuation services can be arranged in high altitude trekking areas if needed.
We highly suggest to all travelers on our trips to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance. Insurance should include coverage for medical treatment, emergency evacuation, trip interruption and other unforeseen circumstances.
If you’re going on high altitude treks, ensure your policy covers the highest elevation reached on the itinerary. Insurance may be a nice backup of security and tranquility on your way.
The weather of the mountains is also highly unpredictable especially in the high mountains. Severe weather or other circumstances that are not under our control might sometimes result in delays, change of route or change of schedule.
Our guides will always check the situation in the local area and make decisions depending on the safety of the guests. Himalayan adventure travel requires flexibility and comprehension.
It is the responsibility of both the traveler and the guide to ensure safe travel. We encourage all guests to follow guide instructions, respect local customs, be aware of their surroundings and travel responsibly.
Simple things like drinking water, taking enough breaks, dressing appropriately, and letting guides know of any signs of illness can help make for a safe and enjoyable experience.
Mission Himalaya Treks has been organizing treks and tours in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan since many years and has adopted the highest standard of safety and professionalism. From your arrival to the end of your journey, we work hard to make sure you can travel with confidence and focus on enjoying the adventure.
Whether you are going on a challenging Himalayan trek or a cultural sightseeing trip, we are committed to providing the support, guidance and care that are necessary to a memorable and safe journey.
