You will experience the rich cultural legacy of the Sherpa people, marvel at the majesty of the Himalayas, and come across colorful flora and fauna along the route. It is thought that the Sherpa community originated in Tibet, where its roots can be found. After making their way through the high mountains of the Himalayas in quest of safety, their forefathers arrived in the scenic Khumbu Valley.
Your remarkable adventure to Everest Base Camp commences upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, where Mission Himalaya Treks will warmly greet you and accompany you to your hotel. After two nights in the culturally vibrant city of Kathmandu, you will take a scenic flight from either Kathmandu or Ramechap Airport, depending on the season, to Lukla. This serves as the starting point for your expedition through the cherished homeland of the Sherpa community.
Traversing alongside the peaceful Dudh Koshi River, you will trek through the awe-inspiring Sagarmatha National Park, with Phakding being your first overnight stop. The journey then leads you to Namche Bazaar, a bustling hub for trekkers and a mesmerizing vantage point to witness the majestic Mt. Everest. Here, you will encounter equipment stores, museums, and monasteries, while also acclimatizing to the altitude and immersing yourself in the Sherpa culture that is embellished with sacred stupas, “mani” stones, and commemorative cairns.
Continuing on your trek, you will reach the magnificent Tengboche Village renowned for its famous monastery, which provides sweeping vistas of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Thamserku. Moving forward from Tengboche, your journey takes you to Dingboche, where the awe-inspiring Ama Dablam stands tall, preparing you for the ascent to Nangkartshang Peak.

An early morning hike the following day to Kala Patthar rewards you with an awe-inspiring sunrise over Everest and the surrounding peaks. Filled with inspiration, you descend to Pheriche, passing through Tengboche and Namche, and finally reach Lukla, where your trek comes to a close.
