Lhasa To Everest Base Camp Tour Itinerary

Walking Hours: 1 Hour Driving.

Today is the welcome day at Lhasa by flight from Nepal. The flight will fly over Mt. Everest, Peak Kanchenjunga, and other glaciers of Nepal, and the amazing river Yarlung/ Brahmaputra of Lhasa. After landing at Lhasa you will be transferred to a hotel.

After transferring to the hotel either you can take a rest or can go sightseeing to Potala square where you can see the amazing view of colorful fountains and picture of the mind-boggling view of Potala and its surroundings. We also suggest you take a rest to get rid of altitude sickness. Stay at Lhasa hotel overnight.

Altitude: 3660m / Flight: 1hr Drive 60 Km

Walking Hours: 5 To 6 Hours Tour.

Beginning the day with breakfast we will proceed for the sightseeing tour to Potala Palace. It was built at the 7th century’s most beautiful picturesque Palace in Lhasa. From Potala, you can see the residential quarter of the Dalai Lama and also the entire city. Potala is also known as the winter palace. Norbulingka Palace is the most famous man-made garden in Lhasa which is also known as the summer palace.
After that, we will go for a visit to Traditional Tibet Hospital. This place is the main location for the treatment, research, training, and production of Tibetan medicine. Then you can go to taste foods at tea shops or restaurants. Then we will stay at the hotel overnight.

On this day we will have breakfast and we will head towards the Drepung Monastery which is known as the world’s largest monastery where more than 10000 monks used to live there in the past.  After visiting the biggest kitchen and amazing sculpture inside the monastery of Drepung Monastery, we will walk forward to visit Sera Monastery.

Sera Monastery is famous for the monks debating held around 3-5 pm which gives invigoration and a peaceful mind. White walls and golden roofs give the amazing eye-catching looks, inside there are three mandalas and paintings of Buddha.

After that, we will stroll towards the Jokhang temple. It was built in the 7th century where you can find a 12 yr old Buddha Shakyamuni statue inside. There is Tibetan pilgrims prostrating area outside the temple. As we finish the visit to Jokhang temple we go to Barkhor Bazaar where you can find old markets and can do kora. After that, you will return to the Lhasa hotel and stay there overnight.

Starting the day with breakfast, we will pack our bags and take a drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. The trail passes through an amazing soothing lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Nimu along the Brahmaputra which is also a foremost place for the agriculture area of Tibet, and the spectacular view of Mt. Nyenchen Khangsar.

After arriving there we will visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery which is the home of the Panchen Lama. It is built on a hill in Shigatse city. The elucidation of Tashi Lhunpo is that everybody’s happiness and fortunes lie here. After visiting Tashi Lhunpo we will return back to the hotel of Shigatsehotel and stay there overnight.

Walking Hours: 7 To 8 Hours Tour.

Today we are traveling to Rongbuk from Shigatse which takes about 7-8 hr to reach. In the trial, we can gaze at the picturesque view of the hamlet, and the ancient temple of Tibetian Buddhism named Sakya Monastery.

After that, we proceeded to Rongbuk. On the trail through Lalung La Pass, viewing the amazing view of Mt. Everest we reach Rongbuk Monastery which is known as the world’s highest monastery.  Enjoying the scenery and view of the mountains, hamlet, and beautiful monastery around us then we return to the hotel of Rongbuk and stay overnight.

Walking Hours: 8 To 9 Hours Tour.

Today will be the most exciting and main day of the trip. Early in the morning we will have our breakfast and start our trip to Everest Base Camp. In the trail to EBC, we can find the spectacular scenery of Shishapangma, Cho Oyu, and Mt. Chomolungma. After hours of driving, we will reach EBC which is our main destination of the trip. We will set the picture of the glimpse of the breath-taking view of EBC in mind and in SD-card too.

Spending quality time there in EBC we will return back to Gyantse. The trail will be full of scenic views, you can’t take your eyes off it. After today’s long drive we will take a rest at Gyantse overnight.

Walking Hours: 5 To 6 Hours Tour.

Having breakfast in the morning we went for a short visit to Palchoe monastery, King of the pagoda- Kumbum Pagoda, Gyantse Dzong, and other monasteries near there. After that, we leave Gyantse and drive back to Lhasa.

On the way back to Lhasa we can see the mesmerizing view of the Mountains and an eye-catching view at a distance. The drive will stop at soothing Yamdrok Tso lake which is the third-largest sacred lake of Tibet. After that, we will drive back to Lhasa and stay there overnight.
