Phulchoki Hiking Overview

Located south of the Kathmandu Valley, Phulchoki hill is the highest elevated hill among all the hills in the vicinity of Kathmandu Valley. With diverse vegetation and exotic bird species, Pulchoki Hiking Trails has been the most favoured escape for both the denizens and International Travelers. Letting the hikers admire the unrivalled view of the Kathmandu valley and mountain vistas, this hilltop has been the perfect one-day hiking spot.

Away from the clamouring city life, a day hike to Phulchoki is bliss in itself. However, to make your trip a reminiscing one, the presence of the stunning Phulchowki Mai temple has its own vital role. Standing at an elevation of 2782m, the hilltop of Pulchoki is the revered site of Hindu Pilgrims.

In addition, for avid birdwatchers and botanists also, a Phulchowki Day Hike appears to be a fruitful one. Within a short time, this day hike takes you away from the frenetic city life.

There is no denying that the Phulchowk Hiking is suitable throughout the year. But, the blooming Rhododendron and other floral species, makes the spring hike more exciting.

If you are a snowfall lover, opt for this trek during winter and enjoy the snowfall with full excitement.

The hike to Phulchowki Hill begins from Godawari which is around a 40km drive away from the main city of Kathmandu. Home to the diverse birds and floral species, Godawari has got everything to allure the hikers since the start.

Heading uphill from Godawari, the trails take us through the lush forest of Pine, Rhododendron, Fur and many others. The chirping of birds and the burbling of streams astonish anyone during the hike.

After the gradual uphill hike of around 4 hours, we will reach the Phulchoki hilltop. Boasting the views of Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishankar and many other ranges the hilltop of Phulchoki greets us with the perfect sight. The surreal view of Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings appears to be more fascinating from this hilltop.
