Is Lobuche East Peak climbing worth it?

Most people prefer Lobuche East Peak because of the breathtaking views it gives from the east. However, the Lobuche peak climbing is not so easy after all. You have to be familiar with the snow peaks and ropes. Snowy steep even makes the Lobuche Peak climbing more difficult. But the fruit that you will get after this hardship journey ends is worth it. Lobuche East Peak Climbing has enough mesmerizing scenic beauties that remain in your heart for a long time.

Lobuche Peak has great value for Mt. Everest climbers too. Lobuche Peak Climbing is taken as the warm-up activity before attempting the actual Mt Everest trekking. Hence while doing Lobuche Peak climbing you will not just meet the Lobuche climbers. It is a great opportunity to have some rewarding meet with the daring Everest climbers. It is the very reason why you should do Lobuche Peak climbing once in a lifetime.

If someone chooses Lobuche Peak Climbing with EBC trek he/she will be delighted the most by joining this outstanding journey. Acquiring the two destinations in a single trip is no less than any achievement in a life journey. Although the inclusion of EBC Trek in our Lobuche East Climbing itinerary might increase overall Lobuche Peak Climbing costs, you will find it worth it after the trek.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Route

After landing at the Lukla airport, we commence the trek towards Phakding and stay overnight. The following day we proceed on the way to Namche and spend a day at Namche for acclimatization. And the next day we head towards Tengboche. From Tengboche, we continue the trek to Dingboche and then Lobuche. As we are combining the Lobuche Peak climbing with the EBC trek for better views and acclimatization, we will continue the upward trek to Gorakshep. From Gorakshep, we will do a short hike to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.

Thereafter, we will trek down to Lobuche village from where the actual Lobuche peak climbing will start. From Lobuche, we will commence our actual climbing journey towards Lobuche Base Camp. Proceeding the trek through rock boulders and moraines we will reach Lobuche High Camp. Past the high camp, the next destination is the summit of Lobuche Peak. The climb from the high camp to the summit is quite strenuous. Using the climbing equipment we will reach the Lobuche summit. We will enjoy the rewarding experience here. The views of the valley and mountains from this summit location are incredibly mesmerizing.

After having a great time at the top we will retrace the route back to Lobuche and then eventually we will trek down via Pheriche and Tyangboche to Namche. Retracing the trail from Namche we will return to Lukla to take a return flight to Kathmandu Valley.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Permits

Lobuche Peak Climbing requires a peak permit, whereas climbing the Lobuche West requires an adventure permit. Additionally, we need to obtain Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permits and Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permits, just as we do for Everest Base Camp Trek.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Difficulty

As we are going to do Lobuche peak climbing, here we will acknowledge Lobuche East Climb Difficulty. Tucked at a sheer altitude of 6119m, Lobuche Peak climbing is quite challenging and needs more energy compared to other nearby peaks like Island Peak. The body of someone living at sea level cannot quickly adapt to the environment because of the thin air and shortage of oxygen might be possible in the higher elevations. So, taking precautions is very important in Lobuche peak climbing.

Technical climbing ability is not needed much but be ready to use it in some parts. Further, prior experience is not mandatory but if you have one it will help you a lot on your Lobuche peak climbing journey. After reaching the base camp of Lobuche, our climbing guide will train you with the climbing equipment for a day. The training before the actual ascent to the Peak helps to gather more confidence among the Lobuche Peak Climbers.

Titled the trekking peak of Nepal, Lobuche Peak Climbing demands great fitness and mental preparedness. After all, mental stability is what is required most. We please all the trekkers to come up with a strong mentality and preparedness. If one gives up mentally, there is no other way anyone could do to make the Lobuche peak climbing journey successful.

Best time for Lobuche Peak Climbing

Like any other trekking and peak climbing destination, you can book Lobuche Peak Climbing especially during Nepal’s top trekking seasons. Lobuche Peak Climbing difficulty reduces by 50% when you do Lobuche peak climbing in the spring( March-April-May) and autumn(Sep-Oct-Nov) seasons. These two seasons are optional among travelers especially due to the beauty and comfort that these seasons bestows. Unobstructed close mountain views through alpine trails and the moderate temperature are the cause why every climber loves to be in the mountains during these seasons.
