Yala Peak is the smallest and easily accessible trekking peak in Nepal. Located in a serene ambiance of the Langtang region, the peak is the best introductory climbing peak in Nepal. In addition, Tibetan influenced culture and tradition is widely noticeable throughout the journey. Inhabited by the ethnic people of Tamang, and Sherpa's, their hospitality is something that you would love to reminisce about for your entire life. Several other monasteries, including the popular Kyangin Gompa monastery, are some of the attractions of the Langtang valley trek and so do the Yala Peak Climb. Further, the local cheese factory at the Kyangin Gompa is no less than any other wonder. It draws the attention of almost all the trekkers visiting this region.

Merely your walk inside the woods of Langtang National Park is enough to soak you up in the Himalayan beauty of Nepal. Diverse species of rhododendrons and other floral plants always lift your excitement level during the trek. The chirping sound of Himalayan Pheasant and other birds species at the park area never let you feel down. Syabrubesi is the gateway to most of the trek in the Langtang region of Nepal. Similar to many other treks, our Yala peak Climbing start point is the same Syabrubesi village. Passing through Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, and Kyangjin Gompa the trek takes us to the Yala Peak Base Camp. From the Base Camp, the peak is not so far. Within a day you can conquer the peak summit and return back to the Base Camp. Retracing the route back up to Syabrubesi you can catch the jeep back to Kathmandu from there.

Yala Peak Climb Extensions:

Depending upon your desire and time availability you can extend or shorten your Yala Peak Climbing itinerary. If you have not much spare time to spend on the trekking trails of the Langtang region of Nepal, Yala Peak Climb alone is sufficient to experience the wilderness of the Nepalese Himalayas. However, if you are yearning more, you can extend your Yala peak trek with the Gosainkunda Lake trek. Furthermore, Yala peak Climb with Gosainkunda Lake and Helambu Valley is also absolutely possible if you are up for it.

Trekkers with extra days in Nepal can terminate their trekking journey at the Sundarijal. Further, the gateway of the Gosainkunda trek, Sundarijal can also be your trek start point.

Experience required for Yala Peak Climbing:

Compared to the other peak climbing like Island peak Climbing and Lobuche Peak Climbing, Yala Peak Climbing is doable for almost everyone. With a good level of fitness, even an amateur climber can conquer the peak easily. Having previous training and climbing experience always comes in handy if you have one. However, if you do not have one, no worries, your will and determination to conquer the Peak are enough to endure every small and big challenge that might come on your way to interrupt your journey.

During the climb itself, your guide will give you the required climbing training.

Accommodation and Food on the trail of Yala Peak Climb:

Being traversed by the few trekkers, the accommodation on the trails of the Yala Peak Climbing route is quite basic. Unless you opt to stay under the tented camps, during the trek you can stay on the lodges run by the locals. Normally these lodges have one spacious dining hall. The room here is equipped with twin beds, a mattress, pillows, bedsheets, and blankets. Most of the lodges serve you with a hot shower facility, and toilets are mostly of the squat style.

Though you might not find the diverse variety on the food menu, whatever is available is guaranteed to have good quality. Local Nepali food and some western cuisines are served at every lodge. During lunch and dinner time, instead of wasting your money on the western dishes, you better give a try to the Local Nepali Dal Bhat set. Within at least cost, the Dal Bhat set helps you increase your stamina a lot.

Best time for Yala Peak Climbing:

Autumn and Spring seasons are considered the best season for climbing Yala Peak. The moderate temperature and stable weather during this season let you grab most of the wonderful aspects of the Langtang region in a more fascinating way. The Autumn month of September, October, and November are there to mesmerize you with the colorful dry leaves all over the trails. Speaking of the Spring, a trek during the month of March, April, and May lets you enjoy the rejuvenating walk amidst the blooming rhododendron forest.

After the freezing cold winter season when you step on the trekking trails of Yala Peak, the warm sun brings up a separate charm at your face. Though the nights are still quite chilly at the higher altitudes, the day's trek lets you absorb the warm sunshine. On top of that, the ridiculously beautiful Himalayan vistas and surrounding atmosphere make your Autumn or Spring trek rewarding and reminiscing.

Yala Peak Climbing Permits:

Langtang National Park entry permit and Trekkers Information Management System(TIMS) card are the only permits that are required for Yala peak Climbing in Nepal.

Is there a risk of altitude sickness during the Yala Peak Climb?

Taking enough food and proper sleep is also important. Further, maintaining a slow pace and proper acclimatization rest help you a lot to deal with altitude sickness at higher altitudes.
