Trip Information of Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Bhutan Tour – 14 Days

Resans svårighetsgrad och utmaningar

People who are of average fitness and have a love for walking and nature can do the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Bhutan tour. This section is moderately challenging as it involves some days of uphill/downhill walking on stone steps, forest paths and mountain trails. The days spent trekking vary from 5 to 7 hours, depending on the pace, so a good level of fitness allows you to make the trek more comfortable.

The summit of this trek, on which you can see the mountains, is the base of Annapurna (4,130 m / 13,550 ft). The higher the elevation, the thinner the air and the slower the pace, so be sure to maintain a steady rate, drink plenty of water and make frequent stops along the trail. The trek takes you up and down in a gradual way to minimize altitude sickness.

The Bhutan leg of the journey is far easier. The main means of sightseeing is the vehicle, with brief walks around the monasteries, temples and historical sites. In the event you decide to trek to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120 m / 10,236 ft), you can enjoy a moderately difficult uphill trek to the monastery.

Before going on your trip, make sure you’re in a positive frame of mind and don’t forget to get in some regular walking and light exercise beforehand, which will make it a lot more fun. Mission Himalaya Treks plans trips with specific time allocation for rest, pleasant and efficient organization.

Väder och bästa säsong

The Annapurna Base Camp and Bhutan Tour Package can be done during other parts of the year, but the best time is spring and autumn. Weather is generally settled, mountain views are clear and temperatures are mild during these months, ideal for trekking and sightseeing.

The rhododendron blooms between March and May and daytime temperatures are nice. Mornings and evenings grow colder as you ascend towards Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m / 13550 ft), while the lower villages are still mild and comfortable.

The season from September to November is called autumn, when it is cooler after the monsoon season. The weather is clear and sunny overall and provides the best time to see and photograph the Himalayas. During this time, the climate of Bhutan is also favorable, so it is easy to travel from one city to another.

It is possible to trek in winter, but snow may occur in higher areas of the trail. In the summer monsoon, regular rains make the trails slippery and decrease the mountain visibility, but the valleys of Bhutan remain beautifully green.

Mat och dryck

In the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Bhutan tour, one will experience a wide range of local and international dishes. Teahouses in Nepal prepare freshly cooked dishes like dal bhat, fried rice, noodles, pasta, soups, potatoes, pancakes, eggs and bread. The dal bhat is popular as it contains sufficient energy for the long day’s trek.

The menu gets simpler as you ascend to higher altitudes, as all supplies are transported by a porter/pack animal. Despite this, the food is still plenty and appropriate for hiking. Most teahouses have hot tea, hot coffee, ginger tea, lemon tea and hot chocolate.

Typical Bhutanese dishes are available in hotels and local restaurants in Bhutan, in addition to Indian, Chinese and continental cuisine. Local specialties cooked with fresh vegetables, rice, cheese and mild spices are also available.

It is suggested that a reusable water bottle be used. Avoid drinking bottled water and opt for purified or boiled water instead, as this will reduce the amount of plastic waste generated while also ensuring you stay hydrated on your trip.

Boende

Accommodation while on the Nepal Bhutan Adventure Tour is a mixture of comfortable lodging in the cities and traditional teahouses in the trekking area. In Kathmandu, Pokhara, Thimphu, Paro and Punakha, you will live in a comfortable hotel which is well-selected, modern and has private bathrooms.

The accommodation will be in the local teahouse during the trek in the Annapurna region. These are basic and clean lodging facilities that provide a warm place to rest after a day’s walk. The rooms are mostly twin-bedded with blankets and pillows and shared bathrooms are provided, but in a few of the villages, there are also private bathrooms.

The dining halls are typically heated in the evening so you can sit, eat and relax with other trekkers. Electricity for charging up devices is available in most villages, although in higher villages it may be charged at an additional price.

Mission Himalaya Treks chooses the accommodation that is comfortable, clean, safe and also locally welcoming, all the way.

Visum, tillstånd och inresekrav

To join the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Bhutan Tour, passengers must be able to meet the entry requirements for Nepal and Bhutan. Nepal tourist visas are usually issued on the spot at Tribhuvan International Airport or can be applied for at a Nepalese Embassy. Most passports are valid for 6 months beyond the travel date.

Permits are also needed for the trekking part. To enter the Annapurna region, you should have an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and a Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card. The permits are used to fund conservation and increase trekker safety.

The entry procedure is different in Bhutan. All travelers except citizens of India, Bangladesh and the Maldives under specific arrangements will have to be booked through a licensed tour operator. You will obtain your Bhutan visa before departure and will have a Bhutan visa clearance letter before you board the flight.

Mission Himalaya Treks will assist you in arranging permits for Nepal and coordinate the process of traveling to Bhutan with its local partners, thereby ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey.

The sightseeing package consists of the flights, road transfer and trekking in the two nations, which will help you to see both countries comfortably as well as make good use of your time.

Reseförsäkring

It is strongly recommended that all participants of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Bhutan Tour have travel insurance. The trek takes you to base camp at Annapurna (4,130 m / 13,550 ft), so your policy should include high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation in case of medical need.

Medical treatment, trip cancellation, trip interruption, lost baggage, delayed flights and personal accidents are some other items that should be covered by a good insurance policy. Domestic flights in the Himalayas are sometimes impacted by the weather conditions and insurance will help minimise the unexpected costs.

Please read the coverage information carefully before buying a policy and be sure to check that trekking above (4,000 m / 13,123 ft) is covered. Basic travel insurance does not come with high-altitude coverage.

Bring hard copies and electronic copies of insurance policies on the trip. This enables guides and local authorities to be able to receive vital information in a matter of seconds if the need should arise to assist.

Dina extra utgifter

Consider purchasing handicrafts, prayer flags, local art, Bhutanese products or clothing for souvenirs. There are numerous opportunities for shopping in larger cities such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, Thimphu and Paro.

It is beneficial to carry some local cash as smaller villages may not accept a credit card. Establishing a sensible daily spending plan before you go on the trip will assist you to stay within your budget without overspending.

Språk och kommunikation

In general, international trekkers have no trouble with communication during the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Bhutan Tour. Nepali is the official language of Nepal and many in the tourism industry have English as their working language. Visitors can communicate with guides, hotel staff and teahouse owners pretty well.

Dzongkha is the national language in Bhutan, whereas English is used in schools, hotels, government offices and tourism services. This allows sightseeing and communication with daily life to be comfortable throughout the trip.

In most cities and many trekking villages, you will find mobile phone reception, but it may be weak in remote mountain regions. Hotels and many teahouses offer internet access, but it may be slower at higher altitudes.

It is always helpful to know some basic greetings in Nepali and Dzongkha. Friendly conversations and memorable cultural experiences can be fostered with a little effort to communicate in the local language.

Regler för fotografering, drönare och filmning

The Annapurna Base Camp and Bhutan Tour Package offers several great photo opportunities. The mountains, traditional villages, monasteries, forests, rivers and colorful prayer flags form beautiful scenery along the way.

At religious sites, museums or monasteries, respect local photography laws when visiting. The rules on photography vary from place to place, with some only permitting photos inside of outdoor spaces and others banning photography entirely within sacred buildings. At each, the rules will be explained by your guide.

Nepal and Bhutan have very strict regulations on the use of drones. Unlicensed drone flights can attract fines and/or confiscation of the drone. Drone owners intending to film with their drone for personal or commercial purposes must acquire all necessary permissions before the trip.
